The Foundation today

Our institution is currently expanding extensively in the services we offer. We are undergoing an internal transformation, especially in our management model. We have invested in new equipment and installations and are applying new computing technologies in production and work routines.

The Foundation has 6 centres, equivalent to a total of 1,890.35 m² surface area, all located in the District of Sants Montjuïc of Barcelona city. Currently the institution attends more than 81,469 patients. The Mental Health Service alone has a reference population of over 200,000 people. More than 170 professionals work in all the centres together, and the annual budget is over 6 million euros.

In 2005 Sant Pere Claver Hospital Foundation received the Barcelona city Medal of Honour in recognition of its extensive experience in health and medical assistance, and particularly for its dedication and attention to people that suffer mental health diseases.

In 2008 the extension work on the main building of the institute in the neighbourhood of Poble Sec, will be completed.

The centre will have almost double the useful surface area, which will allow us to open new research and training centres to broaden our scope and advance the knowledge and expertise of our professionals.

During 2008 the institution celebrated its 60th anniversary with various scientific and institutional activities.
